The Mind Mason provides truly customized learning services. Personal Education Coaching goes beyond traditional tutoring. Through metacognition and strategic thinking practices, clients are able to define and identify patterns in their learning. Understanding your learning provides clarity on how to create conditions optimal for your success across multiple environments. Carla has a unique educator profile, who is highly qualified in a variety of contents across the K-12 continuum and has taught every grade level in two decades of service in education across the country. She has experience instructing youth through adult learners in a variety of contexts, in academic, professional, and intergenerational and multi-lingual and multi-cultural community environments. Memorization and superficial achievement is not the focus of our sessions. Instead, Carla uses her expertise and experience to find the point of connection and create learning scenarios that drive student success.

A Guide to the Modern School Environment
Many families have found themselves confronted with an increasing amount of complexity regarding their child’s education. From the classroom to the array of schooling options themselves, the intricacies may appear to be multiplying daily. The unfamiliarity of this landscape can be overwhelming, yet the structural capacity for our school system to provide 1:1 support to each student is not aligned to meet family need. Through our dedicated 1:1 sessions, you are able to get questions answered so you are able to make informed decisions about your child’s education. Carla has an immense amount of experience with students with ADHD, anxiety, disengagement, and language learners. Common topics in these sessions focus around standards, assessments, interventions, as well as strategies in communicating with teachers, alternative schooling options, and the school and non-academic supports at home!

Intentional Design to Homeschool
The Mind Mason offers a supportive environment for parents, as they consider making a transition from a traditional school to a home school model. From rural to urban areas and from those first considering a transition to homeschooling, to veteran homeschooling families evolving their practice, Carla guides parents through a framework for parents to arrive at their decision. The goal of our partnership, is the development of a intentional, functional, and sustainable homeschool model with rigorous learning.
